Tajweed & Qirat

ABOUT

Tajweed

Tajweed refers to the rules and principles governing the proper pronunciation and articulation of the Quranic text. It encompasses the correct pronunciation of letters, the application of appropriate vocalization marks, the rules of elongation, and other guidelines that ensure the accurate and melodious recitation of the Quran. Tajweed is crucial for preserving the integrity and beauty of the Quranic scripture and is considered a form of worship when recited with proficiency and adherence to its rules.

ABOUT

Qirat

Qirat refers to the actual act of reciting the Quran aloud. It involves applying the rules of Tajweed while reciting the Quranic verses during prayers, religious gatherings, or personal study. Qirat is not only a means of conveying the divine message but also a form of spiritual devotion and connection to Allah. Different styles of Qirat exist, each characterized by its unique recitation patterns, melodies, and modes of delivery. Qualified reciters, known as Qaris, are trained extensively in the art of Qirat and are revered for their mastery of Tajweed and melodious recitation of the Quran.
